Today I was reading to my two younger siblings the book series "The Chronocles Of Narnia". I was reading the second book of the series, it was called "the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe".
When I was reading the part when Lucy, one of the main and youngest characters in the book, finds herself going thru a wardrobe in the woods of Narnia.
When I finished the sentence of when Lucy finds out she is in a wood I took a breath, and of course when I took a breath I paused, then my dad said that that was a good pause because that was when Lucy was surprised so it was a dramatic pause
(we were in a car when I was reading and my dad was driving). My dad also said that i did good pausing when I introduced Lucy's brothers and sister: Edmond, Susan, and Peter.
I once had a hard decision of what voice I should make for the faun in the book: more grown up (Lucy meets a faun).
My dad also liked when I introduced three servants in the book and paused just like I did with Lucy's siblings.
The names of the servants were: Ivy, Margaret, and Betty.
My brother, Gideon, has a Minecraft forum and one of his friends asked him to read a script that he gave Gideon. Gideon read it and recorded it but Gideon said that his recording wasn't good, so he asked me to read it. I have already read it and recorded it, but I'm not sure if it's good enough (some of the words in the were made up in this story)
Tell me if you like this recording, tell me what parts I could differently:
This is my voice practice of the famous Bilbo birthday speech from the book "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of The Ring" by Tolkien.
For fun, you can hear the movie version of that Bilbo birthday speech at this link:
Some of the things in voice acting I want to become better at or learn how to do are:
