Narnia Script

Today I was practicing on the book synopsis for the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Here is the synopsis:

NARNIA... the land beyond the wardrobe, the secret country known only to Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy... The place where the adventure begins. Lucy is the first to find the secret of the wardrobe in the professor's mysterious old house. At first, no one believes her when she tells of her adventures in the land of Narnia. But soon Edmund and then Peter and Susan discover the magic and meet Aslan, the Great Lion, for themselves. In the blink of an eye, there lives are changed forever. Enter this enchanted world countless times in The Chronocles of Narnia. There are seven books in all:

 THE MAGICIAN'S NEPHEW

THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE

 THE HORSE AND HIS BOY

 PRINCE CASPIAN

THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER

THE SIVER CHAIR THE LAST BATTLE

That is what I was practicing on.

The hardest part for me in this script is the part "Aslan, the Great Lion, for themselves" I try to emphasize the words " Aslan" and "Great Lion".

But when I try not to emphisize the words "for themselves" I can't do it because I just emphasized the words "Aslan" and " Great Lion". There were characters I had to practice my voice on.

These are the characters: the White Witch, Mr. Tumnis, the old professor, Peter, Susan, and Edmand.

The Chronocles of Narnia

Today I was reading to my two younger siblings the book series "The Chronocles Of Narnia". I was reading the second book of the series, it was called "the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe".

When I was reading the part when Lucy, one of the main and youngest characters in the book, finds herself going thru a wardrobe in the woods of Narnia.

When I finished the sentence of when Lucy finds out she is in a wood I took a breath, and of course when I took a breath I paused, then my dad said that that was a good pause because that was when Lucy was surprised so it was a dramatic pause

(we were in a car when I was reading and my dad was driving). My dad also said that i did good pausing when I introduced Lucy's brothers and sister: Edmond, Susan, and Peter.

I once had a hard decision of what voice I should make for the faun in the book: more grown up (Lucy meets a faun).

My dad also liked when I introduced three servants in the book and paused just like I did with Lucy's siblings.

The names of the servants were: Ivy, Margaret, and Betty.

A Minecraft Script I'm Reading For Gideon's Friend to Test the Snowball

My brother, Gideon, has a Minecraft forum and one of his friends asked him to read a script that he gave Gideon. Gideon read it and recorded it but Gideon said that his recording wasn't good, so he asked me to read it. I have already read it and recorded it, but I'm not sure if it's good enough (some of the words in the were made up in this story)

Tell me if you like this recording, tell me what parts I could differently:

The reason Gideon's friend wanted me to record his script is because we have a mic called the "Snow Ball" and he wasn't sure if he should get the Snow Ball so he wrote up a script and had me read it. If it recorded my voice well then he will get the Snow Ball.

Difficulties of Voice Acting

Some of the things in voice acting I want to become better at or learn how to do are:

  • I want to learn how to slow down when I'm reading
  • I want to learn how to control my breathing so it doesn't capture my breaths between words
  • I want to learn how to make it my voice when I'm narrating a script
  • I want to learn how to add my voice to an existing recording
  • I want to pronounce words so the audience can understand and hear the words I say good
  • I want to learn how to cut and paste words from one part of a recording to another part
  • I want to learn how to remove from my recordings clicks and breathes
