I got cast as Parker from the other blog post I wrote about! It's been exciting, not just because I got cast, but because out of 125 AUDITIONS I WAS CHOSEN! Now that's a large number to me! And there's more: the director also wants me to audition for Travis the younger brother too! SCORE  *pretends to shoot a basketball in the hoop and makes it*
But they want me to record the script today, but they still need to finish writing the script. I then responded and said I could record it within their deadline, and that I'd love to audition for the role of Travis (by the way I found out and responded on the second day on the week that falls on the 8th of the 9th month in the year of our Lord 2019 ~~(AKA 9/8/2019 - #summerpracticallyover).

I'm now waiting for their response.



UPDATE: THEY CAST ME FOR TRAVIS TOO!!!

Last week I auditioned for an upcoming animated short. They hadn't named it yet but it's supposed to be like the movie The Iron Giant. The director said that she and a friend were entering in their animation in a contest (I don't know which one though), and they needed voices for the characters. They had four open roles: Parker (the older brother), Travis (the younger brother), Brian (the dad), and Samantha (the mom).

A few days ago I auditioned for a role from a casting call for a children's audio drama podcast. They had a link to their first (and only) episode they created. I listened to it and thought it was pretty good. I did think the sound design could be better though. The sounds weren't "ambient" enough and the music cut too fast. The sound effects were also from a cheap free sound effect library, but they tend to not have very many unique, and I have 5000+ personal sound effects and songs. I'm considering offering to help in that area as well as voice acting. Which brings me to that fact that I auditioned for the "storyteller" part. They need several people to either narrate the stories or do fun voices like goblins and kings and fairies. I read, recorded, and sent the audition for the role. The director actually said I had a big chance of getting the role because of my young teen voice (just about everybody else is over 18, so it's rare to get a voice as young as mine). Also, the role is paying a small amount of $10 per episode you voice act in. That seems fair to me since I know I'd enjoy it. They actually don't have a deadline, so I'm guessing they'll cast people here and there, but I'm guessing it'll end by the end of September.

A few months ago on CCC (Casting Call Club), I found a Christian casting call that needed two adults; a dad and a narrator. They also posted the story and script.

The script was about a dad and his two kids out fishing on a boat on a lake. The two kids start fighting until at one point the older brother accidentally knocks the younger brother's fishing pole in the water and the pole sinks. After that they pray to get it back, and then they try fishing out the fishing pole with another pole. It doesn't work and so they go home. The younger boy wants to pray again and so they do. The next morning they try again and get it back. That was the short summary.

I messaged the director of the casting call and asked why they didn't have roles open for the two kid characters. He responded back saying that they were holding live auditions in person at their own studio, but if I wanted I could send him an audition for one of the boys. So I chose some lines from the script and recorded them, then sent it back. Since this was during the summer, they said they were doing a lot of Christian summer camps and wouldn't be able to respond right away. About two weeks later the director responded back and said they thought my voice was perfect for David, (the older brother) and cast me! I was really excited about that news, especially since this was also gonna be a paid role.

It was still summer, so they were still helping out at churches and things like that. A month or two later he asked if I could do a live call with him so we could go over the script. Once we were on the call, the man was very kind and polite and introduced himself. He had just last year been put in charge of LifeLine Audio along with one or two other people. What I got really excited about is that he was very familiar with Adventures in Odyssey, a big Christian audio drama company hosted by Focus on The Family. He also worked a little with Lamplighter Theatre, another Christian audio drama company.

We went over the script and he gave me some pointers and personal notes on the script. The next day I recorded all my lines and am now waiting for my next step.

One of my mom's friend's starting a podcast, so my mom let her know that I edit podcasts. She responded back and said she would love to hire me, so I offered to edit an episode for her for free. So, 4 days ago (Friday) she gave me an interview she recorded with someone for me to edit. 

I already had some episodes to finish that weekend so I didn't start on it until Monday two days later. It was... Stressful. The episode was pretty hard to edit, and now I'm considering not working for her (but she may not hire me anyway) unless the pay is worth the time.

I am trying to save up money and earn as much as I can, but again her episodes can take a long time and maybe more then I can handle. I just finished the episode this morning and emailed it to her. I am now awaiting her response!
