My First Pro Gig

Last week I finally made a step I'd been waiting for; I signed up to be a pro voice actor on Fiverr! If you're not familiar with Fiverr, it's a site where you can hire professionals to do stuff like art, voice acting, photography, etc.

I've had my eye on it for a while because it pays pretty well compared to Casting Call Club (which is a great site to get started in voice-over), and there are not very many good child actors on there.

I then made a video of me recording with my demo and put up a few other demos and past recordings I've done.

Yesterday, a man contacted me and wanted to hire me as a short character for a video game he's making. I'm very excited for my first pro gig! I sent him a test recording so he can hear my voice. I'm waiting for his response.

The whole project will cost him around $30 with 34 words in the script, and other things like commercial rights.

If you want to check out my gig, here's the link (unfortunately it changed the audio quality in the demo).

Cast for "Slightly"

If you read the blog post right before this one, then you'll know that I auditioned for the character "Slightly" in a Peter Pan Dub. Well, an hour later, after I auditioned, they cast me! That was the fastest I had ever been auditioned. I sent him a friend invite on Discord, and am now awaiting his response.

Cast as Lucas

Yesterday I got cast for another role! The role was Lucas, although it's going to be a small role this time. The character I'm pretty sure is from a video game, and the casting call host does a lot of dubs for favorite video games. I sent two auditions because the first one I sent the casting call host said it just wasn't quite right, so I sent another. This role also seemed to be more emotional than my usual auditions.

Here is the audition I sent for Lucas:

No Way!! Tails AGAIN!!!

Well, I just got cast in another casting call for, you guessed it - Tails the fox! This is now my 4th time playing as him! Along with Tails, I also got cast for "Charmy Bee," another character from the video game.

These are more paid roles (but not that much money), I get $20 per character, so $40 for all of it. I'm just about to send out two more auditions on Casting Call Club. It seems like I've suddenly been flooded with voice acting and audio engineering opportunities! Taking this journey down the "audio" road has been a great ride, and I've been learning so many new things.
